Mary began dance training in Tampa with the Frank Rey Studio, the Classical Ballet Center, and the American Dance Theater for 14 years. Her studies included Ballet, Modern Dance, Musical Theater Dance, Tap and Jazz dance. Mary then performed as a jazz, musical theater and tap performer for four years with the American Dance Theater in Tampa, FL.

Mary is a graduate from the University of South Florida in Tampa with a BA Degree in Speech and a Minor in Dance.

Mary married in 1976 and moved to Lakeland, FL, where she taught Modern Dance, Musical Theater Dance and Dance History for Florida Southern College. She taught for Florida Southern College for seven years and choreographed a musical theater production for the college each of those seven years. She also taught simultaneously for the Lakeland School of Dance under the direction of Jane Coyle. At the Highland School, Mary taught Ballet, Jazz, Modern Dance and Tap.

Her family moved to Bradenton in 1982 and Mary began teaching for the Ellen Meade Dance Studio, the Betty Seibert Dance Studio, The Sarasota Ballet School, the Deborah Vinton School of Dance, the Cheryl Carty Dance Studio, Flex Dance, and Danspace. From 1982 to the present, Mary has been teaching Modern Dance, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theater Dance, and Pilates.

In addition to Mary's studies in Tampa, she has studied at the Alonso King School of Dance in San Francisco, the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater in New York, the Deborah Vinton School of Ballet in Sarasota, and the American Dance Festival Teacher's Program at Duke University in North Carolina.
