Unni Johansen

- Seamstress

Unni Johansen was born in Saltdalen, Norway. Unni always wanted to become a dancer as a young girl, but her parents could not afford to send her to dance classes. After having 6 children, 4 girls, and 2 boys, Unni decided to put her all in Ballet classes. She then quickly became an avid ballet fan, and would spend countless hours helping and volunteering with the schools her daughters danced with.

At a young age Unni had also developed her talents as a seamstress. After completing her interior decorating degree from a Norwegian University, she formed her own company where she would sew high-end dresses and outfits for children. This business became quite successful. Unni also, to help support her growing family formed a color-coding business to help the women of Norway pick the right colors according to their own skin-tone. Match Me grew quickly, and Unni supervised and trained 86 women throughout Norway and Sweden.

After moving to the States, Unni supported her girls in their Ballet training, and has for over 20 years sewn ballet costumes for professional and recreational dance. We are honored to have her with us, and are very excited to have our very own professional seamstress and costume creator and designer.
