Danny Zirpoli, born in London, England, began his piano studies in Regensburg, Germany at the age of fourteen and presented his first public recital after six months of study. He subsequently moved to the U.S. where he made numerous TV and recital appearances, toured as a featured soloist with the North Carolina Symphony and gave a special concert for North Carolina Governor Terry Sanford.
Danny attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and received the coveted Gorno Memorial Award in Piano. It was during this time that the University arranged for Danny to give a special concert for Princess Irene of Greece during her U.S. visit.
From Cincinnati Danny went on the road and toured with jazz ensemble for about six years, after which he settled in Sarasota, Florida and established a teaching studio. In 1990, Danny completed his Ph.D. in Musicology at the University of Florida and was a recipient of the President's Recognition Award.
Apart from music, Danny's other interests have included being an instructor for the Coast Guard Auxiliary, an amateur radio operator (N4CPP), and a Red Cross volunteer. In 2007 he became an Ordained Minister and is currently the Director of Music for the Shrine of the Mater Church in Sarasota. In December of 2007, Danny joined the staff at Revelle Academy as a resident pianist.
