Jayne Dabu is a former professional ballet dance. She teaches private and group dance, movement, ballet, Tai Chi/Qi Gong, stretch and conditioning classes for children and adults in Sarasota. She danced professionally with Atlanta Ballet Company, St. Louis Ballet Company and Joffrey II.

Jayne hails from Norfolk, Virginia where she received her training with Theresa Martinez, former professional ballet dancer with Ballet Nacional de Cuba and who also danced with Cuban Prima Ballerina Assoluta , Alicia Alonso. She also received her training from Gene K. Hammett who danced with Ballet de Monte Carlo. Later, she went was trained at School of American Ballet (official school of New York City Ballet Company). She also trained at Alvin Ailey School and Joffrey Ballet School in New York City.

Jayne attended Indiana University Bloomington where she had a full dance scholarship and received her B.S. in Music/Dance and an outside field in History. At Indiana University she trained and worked with former prima ballerina, Patricia McBride and premier danseur, Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux of New York City Ballet and Jacques and Virginia Cesbron.

Her repertoire is very wide and varied from Balanchine to classical ballets and modern pieces.

Revelle Academy is proud to have Jayne as part of our part-time faculty. Her students enjoy her challenging classes as she sets a high standard and pushes her students to higher levels.
